They say a house is made of walls and beams, but a home is built with dreams and it takes an artist to translate those dreams into reality. Not the kind who holds a brush, but the one who molds air and light, who sculpts space and silence, who choreographs the dance of colors, textures, and emotions within four walls. An interior designer is more than a professional; they are visionaries who build stories with sofas, emotions with lighting, and memories with material. And in this world of transforming spaces and souls, stands one such visionary-Anchal Bhrany Pathak.

An interior designer is more than a professional; they are visionaries who build stories with sofas, emotions with lighting, and memories with material. And in this world of transforming spaces and souls, stands one such visionary-Anchal Bhrany Pathak.
In a world that’s increasingly fast-paced and chaotic, design has become more than luxury-it’s a language of comfort, functionality, and identity. It’s how we express who we are and what we value. A well-designed house can evoke calmness, inspire creativity, or simply make you feel that you belong. But behind that harmony lies a mind that can decode complexity, a heart that feels every hue, and hands that don’t just build but breathe life into structures. That rare alchemy of precision and poetry is what Anchal brings to every blueprint she sketches.

Born in the culturally rich yet fashionably vibrant city of Amritsar, Anchal’s journey into design didn’t begin with grand studios or mentorship under iconic figures. It started quietly in the corners of her childhood home, where art flowed as naturally as language and expression was second nature. From a young age, she immersed herself in creativity, winning international art competitions and even securing third place in collage-making at the 23rd International Competition in Jaipur. But more than the accolades, it was her mother—an effortlessly creative woman with an innate sense of beauty—who shaped her artistic soul. “She could make the simplest dining setup look like a royal banquet,” Anchal fondly recalls. “Her hands could breathe life into bonsais and warmth into our home.” Even after losing her mother to cancer, Anchal continues to feel her presence in every project—guiding, inspiring, and admiring from afar.

Academically, Anchal pursued a Bachelor of Design, emerging as a gold medalist and scholarship recipient. She further honed her skills through online architectural courses and a master’s degree, always pushing herself to stay ahead with the latest tools and technologies. “This field doesn’t allow you to pause,” she says. “You have to be two steps ahead—of trends, of technology, of yourself.”

For Anchal, design is not just a canvas but a conversation—a dialogue between structure and soul, between function and beauty. Her design philosophy is deeply rooted in comfort, sustainability, and usability. She believes spaces must serve their people, reflect their lifestyle, and evolve with their changing needs. Her strength lies in detailing—because for her, magic often hides in the overlooked.

When asked about her favorite project, she finds it impossible to name just one. “Each project is like a novel,” she says. “It has characters, conflicts, resolutions, and emotions. And every client brings a new plot.” From designing the ITI Display at the Uttarakhand Investor’s Summit 2024—a dive into political design—to creating the acclaimed House of Nutmeg in the hospitality sector, each endeavor has been a journey of growth. Projects like Cambridge Amritsar brought the joy of designing for children, where every wall spoke a new language of color and care. Luxury residences taught her to balance minimalism with opulence, tradition with modernity, and imagination with practicality.

However, the road hasn’t been without challenges. In a field often dominated by men, being a female entrepreneur means facing raised eyebrows and underestimated abilities. “You have to be bold,” she says unapologetically. “You have to step out, speak up, and sometimes stand alone. But you keep going, because what you’re creating is worth it.”

Interestingly, Anchal doesn’t draw inspiration from globally renowned architects or grand design houses. She finds it in the rhythm of everyday life—in a child’s laughter in a cozy nook, the serenity of a plant on a windowsill, or the personal stories of her clients. “The person matters more than the Pinterest board,” she laughs.

Looking ahead, Anchal envisions a world where biophilic design—bringing nature indoors—becomes the norm. She champions eco-conscious design, energy-efficient planning, and smart yet soulful spaces. Her focus remains on sustainable functionality—creating environments that breathe, adapt, and heal.

To aspiring designers, she offers a heartfelt message: “Don’t chase trends. Chase purpose. Learn, unlearn, relearn—and above all, be patient. This field will test you, shape you, and reward you only if you show up with dedication every single day.”

Anchal Bhrany Pathak doesn’t just design residential or commercial spaces—she crafts experiences. A skilled design engineer with deep knowledge of interiors and architectural elements, she is, above all, a storyteller. One who listens to the silent dreams behind every blank wall and turns them into reality with precision, compassion, and flair. So, if you ever dream of a home that embraces you, an office that fuels your passion, or a café that speaks louder than its menu, remember her name. Trust Anchal to not just understand your vision—but to elevate it into a living, breathing experience. Reach out, and see what it feels like when your space finally starts to feel like you.
